MisfitsSomebody has to run the Works

Five species, five rungs, one machine that has never once been switched off. They didn't choose the city and the city didn't choose them. They're all still on shift.

More than a PFP collection. Enjin Misfits is an ecosystem being built around a community: five species, a city with its own history, a game, and more still being built on top of it.

The city

Sootfall

At the centre of the city stands the Works. It has run without stopping for longer than anyone can properly account for, and it burns coal, scrap, water and shifts. The ash it throws comes down over everything like the weather. That's the Fall, and that's the name.

Nobody currently living knows what the Works produces. There are wagons out on the east road every morning, loaded and covered, and nobody has ever met anyone who met the buyer. The question gets asked less than you'd think. It's a job.

Sootfall isn't divided by species. It's divided by what your species ended up doing, and nobody chose that either. Whoever got here first took the work worth having, and everyone since has taken what was left.

Who's on shift

Five species, five rungs

No species can leave its rung and none of them can do without the others. That's why the grudges are permanent and why almost nobody acts on them.

Grimps

Doors, meat, building sites, terraces. Jail, eventually. Permanently irritated and convinced they're tougher than you.

? Repair

Mutts

They keep it running. The only species that wears its name on its chest, which saves everyone the trouble of asking.

? Admin

Goobers

They hold the paperwork and understand none of it. Having a fantastic time regardless.

? Unfiled

Voidlings

Here before the Works. On no rota, paid nothing, and somehow always where the work is. Everyone is polite to them.

? Owners

Frogs

Got here early enough to own things instead of doing them. Owe you money. Still look down on you.

The collection

Grimps, first shift

The artwork for the first drop is complete. 444 Grimps, assembled from 79 hand-reviewed trait layers across seven categories, every one placed and checked individually. No two share a combination.

One species at a time

The Misfits drop in phases of 444 per species, each one its own shift. The Grimps go first. Every species gets its own release and its own wardrobe, and all five share one city, one pipeline and one collection.

The rota

What's on the board

01

Phase One

The Grimps and the Mutts mint. Alongside them, we work to secure partnerships with existing Enjin games.

Now
02

Phase Two

The Frogs and the Goobers mint, and infusion begins across the collection.

Next
03

Phase Three

The Voidlings mint, completing all 2,220, and the Enjin Misfits game drops.

Then

Throughout

Gaming nights, community giveaways and events, running across every phase.

And after

Three phases is where it starts, not where it ends. Sootfall is built to keep going.

Partners

Partnered projects

Enjin Misfits are built to be used, not just held. These are the projects we're working with so far, with more being lined up through Phase One.

Questions

Frequently asked

What are the Enjin Misfits?

A handcrafted, AI-assisted PFP collection of five species (Grimps, Mutts, Goobers, Voidlings and Frogs from Hell) living in an industrial city called Sootfall. Each species drops separately, 444 at a time, on the Enjin blockchain.

How is the art made?

Each trait is drawn onto the species base and then extracted as its own layer, so every layer matches the base in style, line weight and palette by construction. Every layer is reviewed at full size over the base and checksummed before it ships. Nothing is generated at mint time that hasn't been looked at.

Why Enjin?

The collection is built for the Enjin ecosystem and its community, with an eye on in-game utility across Enjin-powered titles.

Is there a roadmap beyond the drops?

Community first, then events, then a game set in Sootfall. The world bible is being written alongside the art rather than bolted on afterwards, so the city, the Works and the five rungs already exist.

Come down to Sootfall

The ash is free, the rent isn't, and there's a shift with your name on it. Come and take it.
